Note: "Diego Jiménez de Funes trabajaba como chirrionero en 1604; poseía 12 carretas y 273 mulas y habitaba en casa de Alonso de Castillo "por no tener el dicho Diego de Funes quien le haga de comer". Recorrió durante muchos años el camino real del tierra adentro entre Santa Bárbara y México ciudad, en la que tenía una casa en la Plaza de Santa Catarina donde nació su hijo y homónimo. Con el dinero que le debían varios vecinos de la provincia, compró la estancia de Santa Ana.."
