There are records for Juan having two marriages. One is for Juana de Dios Felipa de Jesús de la Cruz (using standard nomenclature order for some clarity). She, however, used many versions of her name, apparently. “Apparently,” because her children’s baptism records do not list grandparents. in the records the mother’s name varies but Juan Montes’ remains consistent (as do locations), with “de Oca” included at least once to make Juan’s last name “Montes de Oca.” One of the variations to her included Martin/Marti/Martinez. Martin is used in the records of Juan Felisiano’s second marriage, when it is noted he is a widower to “Julia Marti” from his first marriage. Yet the record for THAT marriage has “Juan Felisiano Montes” as the groom and “Juana de Dios Felipa de Jesús Munisa” as the bride.
