| Name | The name of the father of Eliza Jane Friend and her sister Jersey Friend is not known. The surname Friend was given to the sisters at their birth so we have assumed the father was a local man named Friend. His first name has not been discovered although the death record of Elixa Jane in 1918 (50 years later) stated his name was Jim Friend. There is no other document that gives his name. Based on DNA matches of descendants of Eliza Jane and Jersey, it is very likely that the Friend male was a child of Alexander FRIEND and Eleanor GOFF who were neighbors of Amanda Clarkston during the 1850s and 1860s. Their descendant's DNA match many Friend and Goff descendants. The pedigree given here is correct for any male child of Alexander Friend and Eleanor Goff. (Known male children of appropriate age include Elija J Friend and Addison J Friend, but there may have been others.) |
