Obituary Mar. 3, 1986: Joseph Vincent McCollum, age 88, died Monday at Brookfield Nursing Center. He was retired from farming and resided at 827 Locust, Chillicothe. Rosary will be said at 7:30 this evening at the chapel of the Norman-Wagy-Singer Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columbians's cemetery with Father Malachy Riley officiating. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 25. Mr. McCollum, born March 24, 1897 in Livingston County, was the son of Herbert McCollum and Harriett L. Gann McCollum. He served in World War I in the U.S. Navy and married Anna Skinner in 1918 in New York City, N.Y. Mr. McCollum attended the Moody School, and was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church and the American Legion. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Ray (Eileen) Miller, Springhill; sister, Leona Raines, Jamesport; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Alfred, during World War II; seven brothers; three sisters, and a grandson.
