| Note | From Christine Johnson, Englewood, CO. Lelah Ethel Gann died in Shawnee, OK at age 91 years and 8 months. She was born in Mercer, Missouri, the fourth of ten children of Joseph Franklin Gann and Ella Lutasha Girdner. In 1907 when she was four years old, the family left Missouri to settle on a claim in the Oklahoma panhandle (and lived in a dugout). The family came to Shawnee in 1919 and she lived there until her death. She served as County Clerk for 22 years and was an active member of the B.P.W. (Business & Professional Women) Club until her death (71 years). She is survived by three sisters and many nieces and nephews. |
