Pallbearers were Jerry Gann, Jack Gann, David Gann, Jackie O. Gann, Hansel Vance, Tennys Alkire, Taylor Alkire and Maurice Ainsworth. Robert Benton Gann, son of Elbert S. and Susan R. Dade Gann, was born August 10, 1878, in Odessa and had lived here all his life except for a few years when he lived in Higginsville. He was a retired farmer and coal miner. He was married December 24, 1900, to Effie E. Bogar. Mrs. Gann died August 4, 1953. Mr. Gann had lived at his residence on Mason Street for 35 years. Mr. Gann was well known in the county and was successful and respected in his business activities. He was a special favorite of the neighborhood children and young people who enjoyed visiting in the home. He is survived by four sons, Luther L., Independence; Lloyd Benton, Centerview; R. L. "Ted" and Louis, both of Odessa; one daughter, Mrs. Frankie Bell McKinnie, Santa Monica, Calif.; one brother, Elmer Gann, Odessa; one sister, Mrs. Florence Brannon, Oak Grove; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
