| Note | From Janelle Gann, St. Joseph, MO. From Obituary: Virgil S. Gann, 89, St. Joseph died Friday, Dec. 21, 1960, at a local health-care center. Born in Utica, Mo., Mr. Gann lived in St. Joseph for most of his life. He retired from St. Joseph Light & Power in 1955, after working for 22 years as a mechanic. In 1925, he married the former Elva Weiler in St. Joseph. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Crystal Simmons, in October. Additional Survivors: two sons, Dale and Robert of St. Joseph; seven daughters, Betty Hovey of Alameda, Calif., Lois Burnett of Faucett, Mo., and Dorothy Burnett, Glennrose Steward, Elizabeth McVicker, Sara Peck and Judith Goben, all of St. Joseph; 29 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Services 2 p.m. Monday, Rupp Funeral Home. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery. |
