Obituary Thursday, Feb 6, 1975: Gann, J. Floyd, age 72, of 1604 W Crabtree Road, Hixson, Tenn., died at the residence Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness. He was the son on the late John Adam and Rena Smith Gann, a pioneer family of North Hamilton County, a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and a member of Red Bank Masonic Lodge No. 71? F&AM and past master of Daisy Masonic Lodge No. 706 F&AM. He was retired from the Whiteside Stearns Coal Co. of Chattanooga. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Henerietta Graves Gann, Hixson; one son, John Andy Gann, Hixson; one sister, Mrs. Madeline Vandergriff, Daisy, Tenn.; one brother, Charles Albert Gann, Chatanooga; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home...Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Presswood, Algie Trantham, Clarence Brown, Kenneth Brown, Jerry Eddings.
