Family story is Roy starved to death after his mother Mary Frances died, that the older sisters did not know how to take care of him properly. However, he lived for 7 months afterwards, dying 2 days before his first birthday. It is likely that he died from a childhood illness, as it would seem that by 7 months time the sisters would have become accomplished in seeing to his nutritional needs and had successfully raised him beyond the critical months in which he would have required nursing from a breast or bottle. Also, by the time of his death, he was old enough to eat some table food, providing that it was offerred to him in adequate amounts and in a form that he could manage. While the quality of his sisters' care may have been a contributing cause of death, it is probably more likely that he became ill by a summer complaint, such as diarrhea, which, coupled with inadequate care and lack of medicines in that day, cost him his life.

Burial place unknown and unmarked, but may be buried in old cemetery at Boggy Depot or Wapanucka, OK.
