Note

From Betty Gann Brown, Box 3374, North Shore, CA 92254.

Fletcher bought a large tract of land in the northeast part of Oklahoma in the Poynor District. He purchased this land from Preston Chrisman for $1 an acre. Fletcher loved Delaware Co, OK and Poynor District. He said if you couldn't make a living in Delaware Co, you couldn't make a living anywhere. He helped build Highway 10 from Jay to the state line. He loved his hone and people and felt he was put on this earth to be of help to his neighbors. Everyone knew they were welcome at his home, and his feelings were hurt if one didn't stay and eat a meal. He farmed and helped out with the sick. He helped dig graves for everyone who passed away. I don't believe there was a death in Poynor District that he didn't help dig the grave. He gave food to every beggar who came through. He loved sharing and believed God helped us to provide to share with others.
