Obituary Sunday, Sept. 30, 1970: Davidson--Mendel (Doc), 65, of Hixson Pike, Rt. 2, Soddy, Tenn., died in a Chattanooga hospital early Saturday morning. He was the son of the last William and Tennessee Gann Davidson, pioneer settlers of North Hamilton County. He was an employee of Pinkerton, Inc., and a member of Daisy Masonic Lodge No. 706 F&AM. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Zula Brown Davidson, Soddy; daughter, Mrs. Louise Loveday, Chattanooga; granddaughter, Lynn Loveday, Chattanooga; sister, Mrs. Mandy Carter, Soddy; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Rich and Rev. Harry Mushigan officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. C. Carter, Jr., Ken Lovelady, Lloyd Lowe, Gomer Lewis, Montague Horne, Sam May, Lee Davis and Guy Keese.
