Obituary: Joseph Floyd (Joe) Davidson, son of William and Tennessee Gann Davidson, pioneer settlers of Hamilton County, and a retired employee of the Hamilton County Education Department, died at his home early Thursday morning. A resident of Soddy, Mr. Davidson was a member of the Dividing Ridge Church of God and a former employee of B. Mifflin Hood Co. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Drena Walker Davidson of Soddy; a son, Lee Davidson of Soddy; two daughters, Mrs. Loraine Flippo of Daisy and Mrs. Lloyd L. Jones of Cleveland; a brother, Mendell (Doc) Davidson, of Soddy; two sisters, Mrs. Wood Carter of Soddy, and Mrs. Frank Johnson of Hixson; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Dividing Ridge Church of God, conducted by the Rev. James Forgey, pastor, and the Rev. Winfred Petty. Burial will be in Dividing Ridge Cemetery. Active pallbearers are grandsons, Gene Davidson, Bill Flippo, Lewis Jones, David L. Jones, J. P. Walker and Hubert Ford.
