From Toby Vann Davis. Amos Cleveland Gann (b. February 8, 1885; d. June 29, 1923; m. November 15, 1908 to Minnie Aurora Shirey b. June 6, 1892 d. April 14, 1987). Buried at New Macedonia Baptist Church, McVille, Marshall County, Alabama. Amos built first Continental Cotton Gin in North Alabama. Parts were hauled in by wagon. Built in the NW corner of the intersection of Hwy 68 and McVille road at McVille, Marshall, AL. Gin and Mill burned about 1914. Amos died of flu, TB, and pneumonia. Buried at New Macedonia Baptist Church, McVille, AL.
