Anthony Smith Gann was a Private in Captain Archer's Company F, 32nd Regiment, Mississippi Volunteers. He was 6' tall, dark complexion, black eyes and black hair. He enlisted 29 April 1862 with Co. M. P. Lowery, Corinth, MS for 3 years. Bounty was paid by Capt. Sheppard. Information from Confederate military record is that he died at home of measles. He is buried in an unmarked grave.
