From Marie Dryden, Chillicothe, MO.

Chase County Leader, Cotton Falls, Chase County, KS, Wednesday October 26, 1932. Death of Mrs. John Trussell. The many friends and acquaintances of the John Trussell family were grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Trussell at Santa Paula, California October 15. The Trussell family moved from this county to California several years ago in the hope the climate would benefit Mrs. Trussell's health. While she did receive some benefit from the climatic conditions, yet her condition continued to become more serious. The Trussell family resided in this county for twenty years. The most of that time they lived in the Forest Hill and the Wonsevu vicinities. Besides her husband, Mrs. Trussell is survived by six children who are Mrs. Eva Hafford and Mrs. Ruth Rockwell and Opal Trussell of Santa Paula, California. Floyd Trussell, Mrs. Everett Berenda, of Homestead this county, and Arthur Trussell, of the Clements vicinity. Mrs. Ruth Rockwell's husband, Theon Rockwell, was killed in an accident while on a hunting trip near Santa Paula, California, only a month or two ago. The funeral services for Mrs. Trussell were held at the Cedar Valley Baptist Church at Homestead, at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20th, where interment was made. Mrs. Trussell's maiden name was Miss Florence Gertrude Duckworth. She was born June 4th, 1882 near Sampsel, Livingston County, Missouri. On Nov. 2nd, 1899, she was united in marriage to John Trussell. Seven children were born to this union. One son, Harold died in infancy. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Trussell is surved by ten grandchildren, also her mother, Mrs. Nancy Walker, of Cedar Point; two sisters who are Mrs. Lizzie ?? of Mooresville, Mo., and Mrs. Marty Stormer, of Matfield Green; two brothers, Aaron Walker of Cedar Point, and Jimmie Walker, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
