Baptist Association, whose home is at Bentonville, Ark., has been a reader of the American Baptist for Seventy years, commencing wh en the paper was only 12 years old. Born in 1872, he is three years older than this paper; an d being "born again" in 1887, he has been a soldier of the Cross a long time. The church he b ecame a member of was organized in 1840; which is "still in the running," he says. The American Baptist extends congratulations to him, and wishes for him and family continued good healty a nd happiness. !From the "Backtracker of Arkansas" Passed away January 30, 1968 in Bentonville, Arkansas. H e was born February 27, 1872 at Gann's Ridge, near Gateway, Barry County, Missouri. He wa s a member of an early Pioneer family and had been a teacher, merchant and legislature. He re tired in 1957 after 15 years as a delinquent personal tax collector of Benton County. He is s urvived by two daughters, Mrs. Howard Patten and Ruby Simmons, both of Norman, Oklahoma: on e brother, Leland Gann, Gateway, Ark.; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and tw o great-great-grandchildren. W. T. is listed as starting the "Decater Herald" in 1896 in Deca ter, Arkansas.
