Note | From Nina Graham, Odessa, MO and Cathie Schoppenhorst, Marthasville, MO. !Obituary: Miss Susan Ruth Dade was born in Springfield, Illinois, September 14, 1849 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lula Welborn in Kansas City Wednesday Dec. 2, 1931 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 18 days. She was married to Elbert S. Gann, December 22, 1870, who preceded her in death twenty years ago. To this union was born seven children: Mrs. Bessie Davidson and James Oliver having passed away some years ago, those left to mourn her loss are: Mrs. Lula Welborn, of Kansas City; Mrs. Florence Brannon of Oak Grove; W. L. Gannof Fowler, Colo.; Benton and J. E. of Odessa; twenty-two grand children; twenty-seven great grand children and two brothers; W. L. Dade of Odessa. She will be especially missed by her devoted granddaughter, Marie Gann, who has lovingly cared for her since the death of her husband. She was very much devoted to her home and family and everyone who entered her home ound a warm welcome. She did what she could in life to make life sweeter for those with whom she came in contact. Funeral services were at McKendree Chapel, Friday morning at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. G. N. Magruder.
