Note | From William Gann, Jan 2016: Just last year in Washington County, TN,we found this new record in the Superior court of 1795 - 96. Thecase was John Taylor vs William Gann, Sr. and William Gann, Jr. In all of our research there over the past 29 years, we had never seen these two men before, nor anything from the Superior Court of that time period. Then,we found William Gann on the tax lists from 1803 thru 1819 in scattered years. There was no designation of a Sr. or Jr. so don't know which this could have been. But since William was on the tax lists as early as 1805 (this may have been Junior turning 21, hence his first time on the list) and still on in 1819, this could have been Wm. Jr. Have not found any record of the two of them in any other court records there. |
