Note | From William Gann, Raytown, MO 2/8/99 1850 Paulding Co, GA census, William, age 22, a laborer, appeared in his father's household. William was not documented in his father Nathan's estate settlement, since he died before his father and apparently had no living heirs when Nathan's estate was finally settled in 1897. This deduction is based on knowledge of probate requirements. We must consider, however, the special circumstances of this estate: some of the heirs may have totally waived their rights to share and were not mentioned in the final settlement, or the possibility that William did not have any children and that his widow had remarried. |
