Obit: Everett V. Roberts, 80, retired Wabash Railroad employee, died at 6:30 o'clock this morning in a local nursing home where he had resided for the last two years. Mr. Roberts, a native of Sampsel, prior to entering the nursing home, had spent his entire lifetime in that community. A son of William Roberts and Adeline (Walker) Roberts, he was born March 29, 1891. On Sept. 2, 1915, he married Mrs. Leona May Frazier at Chillicothe. Mrs. Roberts died June 19, 1968. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He attended the Sampsel School. Survivors are two sons, William J. Roberts, Kansas City, Kan. and Byron Frazier, Chillicothe and two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Benson, Gladstone and Mrs. Sylvia Oliver, Sampsel. He also leaves two brothers, Orville Roberts, Sampsel and Leander Roberts, Trenton; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel R. Roberts and Estell Ward Roberts; two brothers and two sisters, in addition to his wife. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home with Dr. Earl C. Griffith, minister of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Utica cemetery.
