| Death | MARY 'DOLL' SCHABLE: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Grand Forks Herald (ND) - Friday, August 14, 1998 Deceased Name: MARY 'DOLL' SCHABLE Mary Doll Schable, 97, formerly of East Grand Forks and Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Mary Patricia McCabe was born March 12, 1901, the daughter of James and Theodora (McIlhargey) McCabe, in Larimore, N.D., where she graduated from high school in 1919. She attended Valley City (N.D.) State Teachers College, where she received her teaching certificate. She graduated from Mayville (N.D.) State College and attended UND. She married Paul Peter Schable on May 31, 1922, in Larimore. She taught in rural schools in Grand Forks County and in Grand Forks. Paul Schable died Sept. 17, 1982. She is survived by sons, James, Greybull, Wyo., Patrick (Isle), Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Ted (Dorothy), Venice, Fla.; daughters, Monica (Bert) Larivee, Grand Forks, Patricia (Michael) Cariveau, Black Hawk, S.D., and Paula (Orville) Tunseth, Bemidji; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Rita Rabak, Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen; and sisters, Gertrude Sis Yahna, Margarite Cart Conroy; Kathleen Tine Hunt, Theodora McCabe and Monica McCabe. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Norman Funeral Home, East Grand Forks.
