| Shared note | My granddad is my hero. His faith in God, his hard work and fair treatment of ALL people is a wonderful model. I spent many a summer with him and grandma in Watonga, OK. We went to the First Baptist Church every Sunday morning and night and on Wed. night. I was always so proud when the preacher asked \"bother C.T.\" to lead us in prayer. He helped build the church with funds. He was a very generous man as his Will will testify. I have lots of fond memories of him...sitting in his big yellow rocker reading his Bible every night...trying to teach me to drive a standard pickup when I was 10 (on a major road to Roman Nose..he gave up quickly!! and I was scared to death...I didn't want to learn to drive!!)...Going to Oklahoma City to see Billy Graham. I wanted to walk forward, but they wouldn't let me...I was too young, but in my heart, that was when I came to know Jesus as my friend. What a gift! Because what was to come. He was what sustained me in the next few years. (In doing this work, I realize there are many stories to be told that never were. We have to look very carefully at dates to see \"what happened\". It's so easy to overlook why we don't know much about a person...maybe it hurt too much to remember or we think it's better not to pass it on....All our relatives were wonderful people.
