Note | In the early 19th century the Still family lived in the area just north of St Mary Le Strand, in a side street off of Drury Lane called Feathers Court. This area suffered from extreme poverty and was well known for its crime and was a major center of prostitution in London. The family escaped to the Holborn area by the mid 1830s, a definite improvement, yet still a lower class neighborhood on Castle St. |
