Note	The obituary of Isabella's sister gives her family hisory: (Website of Darrow Little / Rootsweb World Connect) VERA HOOD ASHMUN - Funeral services for the late Mrs. Vera G. Ashmun were held Saturday afternoon at White-Emerson Funeral parlors, ... Vera G. Hood was born at Palmerston, Ontario, Canada, June 25, 1863, and passed away in Whittier, California, April 14, 1926. She was the third child of Gideon and Catherine Hood, who were pioneers, coming from Scotland in 1853 and settling in what was then a dense Canadian forest. As a young woman Vera moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and was there united in marriage to Samuel H. Ashmun, November 28, 1883. To this union were born six children. Mrs. Ashmun lived in Sault Ste. Marie until the death of her husband, December 22, 1910... She is survived by her children, Elmer J. Ashmun of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Samuel H. Ashmun of Maracaibo, Venezuela, South America; Mrs. Wayne J. Davis of Downs, Illinois; Mrs. Lew Manning, Edgar C. Ashmun, Miss Myra Ashmun of Whittier; also four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Janet Miller of Sawyer, Minnesota; Mrs. Isabell Griffin of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Mrs. Christine Stibbs, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Mrs. Gene Reichling, James G. Hood, Whittier.
