Rita Louise Rabak, 86, of Lubbock died Monday, June 23, 2003 in Lubbock. Rosary will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home. Mass will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Rita was born Oct. 22, 1916 in Larimore, N.D., the daughter of James and Theodora McCabe. She was a graduate of Larimore High School and Valley City (N.D.) State University. She was a teacher in North Dakota schools and was secretary to the State Director of Extension Service at North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota. She married James W. Rabak on Sept. 2, 1942 in Larimore.

She moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1950 where she lived for 36 years, and has lived in Lubbock since 1986. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral. Survivors include her husband, James W. Rabak; two daughters, Rosemary Christensen of Lubbock , and Andrea Rabak of Nashville, Tenn.; and 15 nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Catholic Extension Society c/o Christ the King Cathedral.
