Note: According to Victor Oliver in a letter he wrote: Uncle Ted and his father John came to Indiana in spring of 1867. Ted joined the US army but the deserted immediately to Canada. A year later he returned to Indiana but was never bothered for being a deserter. He left the US when Victor was 7. Evidently he went to New Zealand, married and moved to Sidney Australia where he raised a family there.
