Note: OBITUARY for MargaretEdith Byars Kennedy; recent residence: Idaho Falls, ID. PARKER -- MargaretEdith Byars Kennedy, 90, of Parker, died April 27, 2008, at her home. She was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Fairdale, N.D., to William Benedict and Jane Latisha Dynes Byars. She grew up on a farm in North Dakota. She attended school through the eighth grade. On Sept. 23, 1947, she married Francis Harry Kennedy in Grafton, N.D. He died March 6, 1989. After their marriage, they moved to Mack's Inn, Idaho, where they lived in a cabin during the summers and moved to Elk Creek during the winters. After their three boys were born, they moved to a farm in Wilford. Following the Teton Dam Flood in 1976, they moved to a farm in Parker. Edith loved working in her yard and grew beautiful flowers inside and out until almost her 90th birthday; she enjoyed having her grandchildren Frankie and Barbara come to visit and made baby quilts for family and friends; and she enjoyed a special relationship with her good friend, Gwen Robertson. Survivors include her children, Gene A. Kennedy (Deb Griffel-Kennedy) of Parker and Harry L. Kennedy of Wilford; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ray; and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. First North in St. Anthony. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Dakota.
