Death

Don Edward Farrar, 87 years of age, passed into the arms of Jesus, early morning on October 14,2021, while receiving care at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview,Tx.

He was born May 13,1934 in Lozano, Tx. He was the eldest son of 6 children to L.D. Farrar and Mary Jane Farrar(both deceased). He graduated from Point Isabel High School in 1954. From there he served in the Army and Air Force for 23 years. While stationed in New Jersey he met and married Ellen M. Hazelton - Farrar (deceased), where they had 2 daughters. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he and his family relocated to Brownsville, Tx in 1978. During his time in Brownsville he worked for Port Construction and the Public Utilities Board of Brownsville until he retired. He was a beloved member and Head Deacon of Portway Baptist Church for many years before moving to First Baptist Church in Los Fresnos, Tx.

After the passing of his first wife, he met and fell in love with Ann Ray Duncan. They Married in March of 2007. During their very short 14 years together, they traveled and lived in both Texas and Idaho finally settling in Gilmer, Tx.

He is survived by his wife Ann Ray Farrar (Gilmer, Tx.); daughters, Heather Renee Muñoz and her husband Jesus Muñoz Jr. ( Mission, Tx.), Bobbie Dee Farrar and partner Christopher Wimbush ( Austin, Tx,); siblings, Jayne Dee Cox and husband Gene Cox (Lyford,Tx.), Larry Dean Farrar and wife Ofelia Farrar ( Brownsville , Tx,) and Sandra Darlene Nicholas (Chandler, Tx.); step children, Shawn Duncan and wife Jessica Duncan ( Vancouver, WA), Leigh Durst and husband Brent Durst ( Santa Cruz, CA.); 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
