Note:Vin, Gene and Dolores McCabe joined Frank in Canada shortly after Vin's birth in 1912. Canadian records showed they crossed the border (immigrated) in May of 1912 on their way to the farm near Castor, Alberta.
M. McCabe Dies of Pneumonia After an Illiness of But a Week - Funeral Arrangements Not Complete.
M. McCabe, one of the pioneer residents of Arvilla, died yesterday afternoon of pneumonia after an illness of but a wek. Until Sunday, he appeared to be getting along well, but Sunday he suffered a relapse and steadily grew worse, despite medical atention. Mr. McCabe was one of the earliest and most highly respected residents of Arvilla. Owing to the fact that relatives from a distance are coming to attend, funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Funeral services for Thomas Griffin, Kellys farmer, who died here Sunday, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the First Baptist church. Rev. A Sterling Barner pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be made in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Miss Lottie Griffin of Watertown S.D., a daughter of the deceased arrived in the city Tuesday and another daughter , Miss Margaret Griffin of Portland Ore., is expected here Thursday or Friday to attend the funeral. Another daughter, Mrs. Frank McCabe of Rio Hondo, Texas, will be unable to attend the funeral, it was announced last evening.

Vin McCabe joined the CCC (Tree Army) in Oct 1933 in Marfa Tx. He worked mostly on building roads in New Mexico around Roswell NM. He once said he helped build a road to the site that eventually became the location of the the first atomic bomb explosion in 1945.
