Shared note

NOTES from Bea MCDANIEL Norred 1999.

" William was a miller, salesman and contractor. The places he lived were Wayne City, Salem, and Fairfield, IL.. Los Angeles, Ca, Ft Thomas, Graham Co., AZ, Piggott, AR, Poplar Bluff, Butler Co., MO and Bartlesville, Washington Co., OK. He was a member of the Christian Church."

Constant NORRED Lewis told us on a visit with her in 1999 that William was a very talented carpenter. He built his house in Bartlesville. I have a copy of a picture of that house with my father in front. Constant also said that Maude had the most up to date kitchen because of William's handy work! We drove by that house in 1999, but I was too scared to knock on the door...it was in good shape.

My father never really talked about his family although I tried to get him to. He only said that he promised his folks that he would not divorce Vera as long as they lived, because he was told that no one ever divorced in the GADDIS family. Herman honored his word.

On the visit with Constant I also learned that her mother, Stella, loved the West and it's colors. So did my father...it must have been because of their living at Ft Thomas.

They are living in Fairfield Wayne Co., in 1900 and 1910--so, looks like they went to CA and came back in between times.
