Name

Arthur was an early settler on Concession 7, Lot 11 in Ops, Victoria Co. It is almost certain that he was either the father or brother of Jane Muldoon.

Shared note

IT is a conjecture that Arthur was the father of Jane Muldoon. Arthur was living close to Michael McCabe on concession 7 lot 11 in Ops according to the 1839, 1840, 1841 census. He did not appear in the later census. William who settled on concession 7 also and remained there until at least 1863 was almost certainly his son or brother. Arthur's widow was probably the "Widow Muldoon" who married Francis McCabe in the Catholic church in Lindsay in 1841, but that is certainly not proved; he could have been her son. Land and census records confirm that the widow Muldoon was in fact "Rebecca Maria Muldoon". Her probable daughter Jane MULDOON married Michael McCABE in 1842 and named her first daughter Mary Rebecca MCCABE, her second son was named Arthur and her youngest son was named William.

Note

I have placed Ann Muldoon in this family due to the fact that this Muldoon family lived close to Ann's husband George Downey of Ops and, also, that William Muldoon wrote a letter of support for George Downey in 1861. In addition several descendants of George Downey and Ann Muldoon are DNA matches with descendants of Jane Muldoon in the ancestry.com database..
