| Death | An email from Andrew Scott of New Zealand, Oct 31, 2008: According to my records, William Giles died at Howick tp, co Huron, Ontario, Canada on 30 Jul 1902. Mary died at Grand Forks, N. Dakota, USA on 21 Oct 1910. Their deaths are recorded on a gravestone in Fordwich Old Presbyterian Cemetery, Ontario, as follows:- "William Giles died July 30th 1902 aged 76 years. Also his wife Mary Scott died Oct 21 1910 aged 84 years. Buried at Grand Forks, N. Dakota." On reverse. " Rebecca Giles 1860-1934. Wife of William Murkar" As regards the alleged photo of William & Mary and indeed all the photos in that group , they were given to me by Mildred Giles whom I met when I was in Canada. Mildred, was not born a Giles, but married Elmer Giles who worked at one time on the family farm. |
