TAHLEQUAH — Graveside services for Raymond L. Gann, 77, of Tahlequah will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Heavener Memorial Cemetery in Heavener. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Professor Gann was born Aug. 11, 1933 at Okay. On Nov. 4, 1954 he married Catherine A. Rockwell his wife for 56 years. Raymond was a retired professor of Industrial Technology and taught many courses in the industrial technology area. He was an instructor for 34 years at Northeastern State University. Recently he had been honored as a Centurion at the Northeastern State University celebration of 100 years. He also served his country in the Army Security Agency as a Cryptographic Technician and was stationed in Japan. Raymond was an active member of the Gann Family Historical Society and was an avid genealogical researcher and a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was also an expert craftsman working mostly with electronics and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Thomas Gann and Maudie Lou Payne (Gann). Survivors include his wife, Catherine, of the home; children, Lorna Gibbs and David of Tahlequah, Thomas Gann and Debbie of Broken Arrow, and William Gann and Brenda of Poteau; sisters Elsie Smith of Muskogee, Lola Hughes and husband Charles of Okay, Bonnie Taylor of Syracuse, N.Y.; and Carolyn Dufrene and husband Larry of Pineville, La.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers include all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
