| Fact | Dempsey and others were assigned the task of laying out a new road from Alexandria Va to a new church built near Rocky Run Va. |
| Event | Ann Hutt, a single woman, filed a complaint against Dempse, whose child she was carrying. The court required that Dempse post a bond to indemnify Cople Parish, where they lived, from liability for the child, and a bond for his good behavior, especially toward Ann for the ensuing year. Dempse securities were John Baker and William Porter. Nothing further is known of the child. Source: Westmoreland County, Orders 1731-39, page 18a. |
