From Bemidji Pioneer, March 6, 1902

Birth: Apr. 24, 1852 Plymouth (Huron County) Huron County Ohio, USA Death: Mar. 1, 1902 Bemidji Beltrami County Minnesota, USA

Mrs. A. Milne, a pioneer of Bemidji, died of typhoid fever, March 1, 1902, at St. Anthony's hospital, after a short illness. She leaves behind her a husband, two sons, and one daughter to mourn her untimely demise.

Arvilla E. Parsell was born at Plymouth, Ohio, April 24, 1852. She was married in 1870 to Peter Doty, who died in South Dakota in 1887 to which state they moved in 1883. She married Alex Milne a few years previous to their coming to Bemidji.

Services were held at the Red Men's hall Sunday noon over the material remains, when the body was taken to Grand Forks for interment. The attendance was very large and the chaplain, Mrs. Ted Smith, paid a touching and beautiful tribute to the memory of the deceased. She was a kind wife and a loving mother.

Mrs. Milne was a devout Spiritualist, for which up to the hour of her death she was an ardent worker. A beautiful floral tribute in the form of a beautiful wreath was given by the members of that church.
