Note: It is an unproved conjecture that Alexander Booth is James Booth of Drumgowan's father. It is an additional conjecture that Alexander originates from the neighboring parish of Kennethmont Parish which is adjoining Leslie and mere miles from Drumgowan. Alexander of Kennethmont Parish married Margaret Philips of nearby Rayne Parish on March 8, 1743. Evidently they had one child baptized Margaret in Kennethmont on Nov 20, 1744. The remaining children were baptized in Leslie Parish so it is likely that Alexander moved to Drumgowan in Leslie parish in 1745, where James was later born.
