In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Cotton of the Parish of Albemarle in the County of Sussex being in perfect health do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament and first of all I bequeath my soul to God hoping at the great Redemption to have that reunited to my Body and with both to enter unto eternal Happiness purchased by my Redeemer Jesus Christ. My body I desire may be buried in a Christian like manner according to the direction of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as touching what worldly goods it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me those dispose of in manner and to persons following.

First I give and bequeath unto my Brother Nathaniel Cotton one Negro man named Burrel during his life and that at his death I desire that he may go to Harris Cotton and his heirs forever.

Also I give to my Brother Nathaniel Cotton one Negro woman named Amey during his life and then at his death I give the said Amey and her future increase to Sarah Ivey and her heirs forever. Also I give and bequeath unto my Brother Drury Cotton one Negro boy named Jimmy and one boy named David to him and his heirs forever. Also I give and bequeath unto Cary Cotton one Negro boy named John to him and his heirs forever.

Also I give and bequeath unto Littleberry Ivey one boy named Daniel to him and his heirs forever.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Brother Nathaniel Cotton one girl named Lol to him and his heirs forever.

Also I give to Mary Croslin all my stock household furniture together with all the remainder of my Estate not before mentioned.

Also I give and bequeath unto my Brother David Cotton all my right in Stephen to him and his heirs forever. Lastly I do hereby appoint & constitute my Brothers Nathaniel & Drury Cotton executors of this my Last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all wills and Testaments by me formerly made.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this Eighth day of May in the year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Six.
