Shared note | October 27, 1682, “In the interest of good government, don Pedro Durán y Chaves and Tomé Domínguez de Mendoza have been exiled along with their immediate kin.” Somehow Tomé Domínguez de Mendoza was able to get permission to move south [exiled] into Chihuahua. The Hacienda called Las Sauces was located somewhere close to the old interior road from Parral to New Mexico and north of the modern city of Chihuahua, which was not yet founded. Most of Tome's descendants never returned to New Mexico but became some of the leading citizens of Chihuahua. . |
